Our innovative Perth and Sydney-based startup was launched by Founder Dr Vanessa Rauland in 2018, initially as an Edtech business for schools. We expanded into Homes in 2020 and launched our ClimateClever Business App in 2021. ClimateClever also partners with Local Governments across Australia to help them quantify climate action at the local level and meet community emission reduction targets and sustainability KPIs.

About the role

The primary role of the Schools Community Engagement Manager is to:

  • Grow the ClimateClever Schools Program nationally;
  • Foster and support our existing school community;
  • Further develop the program offerings;
  • Identify and develop new partnerships with aligned organisations.

This exciting role has a high degree of autonomy, allowing the right candidate to create an inspiring vision for how they would like to develop the Schools Program going forward, and implement that strategy within a supportive team. It is a unique opportunity to join a passionate, diverse and innovative team in a rapidly growing startup based in Perth and Sydney. Through this position, you will be directly helping to address the most pressing and important challenge of this century.

Accountabilities will include

  • Growing the School Program nationally:
    • Recruiting new schools through direct outreach, webinars, social media, inbound leads and other sales channels such a partners;
    • Presenting at Local Government and community events and workshops;
    • Attending, presenting and networking at various conferences and events;
    • Helping to convert school participants on the free tier to paid tiers;
    • Developing an ambitious outreach strategy and improving our current sales processes.
  • School engagement/Customer relationship management:
    • Delivering onboardings to new school participants;
    • Using our CRM software to manage our existing school participants;
    • Responding to school queries in a timely manner;
    • Running quarterly Meetups with current schools;
    • Writing monthly engaging and topical school newsletters;
    • Collating feedback from users and providing it to the Product Team;
    • Updating and developing curriculum/learning resources when required;
    • Exploring new ways to provide value to ClimateClever schools to ensure retention.
  • Reporting:
    • Define, track and report on success metrics for school performance within the program.
  • Marketing:
    • Liaising with ClimateClever’s marketing team and attending weekly meetings;
    • Preparing text for social media posts where needed;
    • Ensuring that marketing and sales material, such as brochures, are kept up to update;
    • Assisting with developing marketing campaigns;
    • Writing blogs on a variety of topics relevant to school users.
  • General
    • Create and maintain process documentation relating to the Schools Platform;
    • Collaborating closely with the Operations and Engagement Team to complete general tasks which may also relate to the Business and Home Platform along with partners;
    • Providing feedback from school users to the Product team to improve user experience within the app and program.

About you

You will be interested in, passionate about and/or have experience in sustainability and/or climate change within the education sector. You will have exceptional communication and interpersonal skills and a hunger to support schools and their communities in reducing their impact. Ideally you will have experience in growing a community of users.

Previous experience in sales and customer relationship management/engagement, specifically within the education sector will set you up for success in this role. You will be ambitious, have a passion for learning, and love taking on challenges.

Location

The successful candidate will be based in the ClimateClever office in Pyrmont, Sydney.

The package

This is a full time role. Annual salary between $70,000 - $75,000 based on experience, plus commission based on the Schools Program growth. We offer flexible work arrangements including the option to work from home with flexible hours. You will be provided with a laptop and given funding for a home office setup and have access to an annual training budget.
