About the Role

The CLC sector is experiencing rapid and complex reform. This senior role leads a small team and supports the strategic development needs of our members:

  • Leading the delivery of CLWA’s sector development, reform, and capacity building programs in close collaboration with the CEO, members, and our team.
  • Leading and delivering or overseeing significant strategic projects including new Workforce initiatives and a groundbreaking Lived Experience Project.
  • Supporting the sector to achieve its five-year vision of stronger collaboration, sustainable organisations and more person-centred services that meet the needs of diverse communities.
  • Supporting the growth of the Sector Development Team to bring together all development, practice and quality activities, and to enhance CLWA’s responsiveness to the needs of our members.
  • Representing and advocating for community legal services in collaboration with the CEO and team.

Hours: 1.0 FTE, negotiable.

Salary: SACS Award level 8, from $110,962 ($55.98 per hour), pro rata, plus generous salary packing benefits (pending wage increases for the next financial year).

Benefits: Flexible hours, generous employment conditions and up to 50% work from home.

Employment type: Fixed Term to 30 June 2025, with likely extension.

Do You Have What We Are Looking For?

With demonstrated success in change management, a background in leading sector or organisational development and/or reform, and experience in the community sector you have a strong focus on working with member CLCs and our team to support sector excellence and collaboration.

You enjoy rapidly changing and complex environments, responding with flexibility, initiative, enthusiasm, and smarts to respond to change and manage competing priorities.

Your exceptional interpersonal skills see you cultivate strong relationships, influence and negotiate effectively, and gain the input and buy-in of members and policymakers with competing agendas.

Your attention to detail and project management skills sees complex projects delivered with good outcomes, on time and on budget.

You have a commitment to human rights and social justice.

You enjoy managing staff and teams, bringing together diverse viewpoints and skills to achieve results.

Desirable experience includes a legal background and understanding of, or experience in working with, the community legal sector.

A police check not older than six months is a requirement for this position.
