The Role:

Centacare Family & Relationship Services is seeking to appoint full time and/or part time Family Dispute Resolution Practitioners. Multiple positions are available for roles based at Chermside.

We are seeking dedicated and experienced Practitioners who will assist in the provision of high quality child focused and child inclusive family dispute resolution services for families who are requiring support to reach parenting agreements. The role includes intake, assessment, risk management, psycho-education, case management and family dispute resolution (parenting and property). The role will offer opportunities to support and work with diverse families with complex needs.

Skills and Experience:

  • demonstrated knowledge, skills and experience in FDR including mediating with families who may have complex needs, and come from diverse cultural backgrounds
  • current knowledge of the Domestic Violence Act and Family Law Act relevant to FDR and the issue of 60 I Certificates
  • demonstrated knowledge, skills and experience in the principles and practices of intake and assessment, case management and referral pathways including screening for risk in the areas of child protection, domestic and family violence, suicide
  • demonstrated substantial knowledge and experience in working with complex family systems, high acrimony, family distress and trauma, mental health, drug and alcohol and family law issues
  • knowledge, skills and experience in the delivery of contemporary child centred, child focused and child inclusive practice appropriate to the role, including a demonstrated understanding of children’s developmental stages
  • well-developed written work including report writing, case notes, data collection, data entry and computer literacy skills

Essential:

  • relevant tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Psychology, Social or Behavioural Sciences, from a recognised tertiary institution
  • eligibility for membership of APS, AASW, or similar recognised professional association
  • qualifications in family dispute resolution (FDR), and registration as a Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner
  • have a current Blue Card – or be eligible to apply
  • agree (if offered employment), that Centacare can conduct an Australian Federal Police Criminal History Check
  • agree to sign a statutory declaration stating you have no overseas criminal offences
  • have Australian Work Rights – Australian citizenship/Visa documentary evidence is to be provided at interview (please contact us for detail if needed)
