The Role

We are seeking a passionate and experienced individual who can inspire students to thrive in their learning and wellbeing in the role of Indigenous Mentor at Caulfield Grammar School. The Indigenous Mentor role provides cultural support and guidance to Indigenous students to ensure successful participation in the broader community.

This is a part-time position (3 hours per week during school hours and can be flexible on days), 12-month fixed term opportunity based at our Caulfield Campus.

Key Duties 

  • Create a productive and safe environment that promotes learning and development for Indigenous students
  • Mentor Indigenous students throughout their CGS journey
  • Ensure Indigenous students feel a strong sense of belonging within the CGS community
  • Model and live the Caulfield Grammar School values and behaviours.

Skills and Experience

  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, needs and relationships 
  • Experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, written and verbal
  • Demonstrated capacity to communicate, engage and connect with a wide range of stakeholders
  • Experience living and/or working in a residential community
  • A current Employment WWCC or willingness to obtain
