Reporting to the Program Coordinator, the Pregnancy and Family Services Case Manager - Homlessness at the Caroline Chisholm Society delivers support services to women including assessment, counselling, housing advocacy and supports, single session & short-term case work. The role is responsible for the planning, delivery and coordination of services for clients and their family, to best meet their needs and achieve agreed goals.

The successful applicant will have case work experience in the family services sector including working with clients who have complex needs, due to significant challenges e.g., homelessness, trauma, mental health and family violence.

The successful candidate will have experience providing case management support with an emphasis on practical assistance regarding housing issues including demonstrated understanding and experience of housing and homelessness context and systems.

You will have good communication, risk management, intervention, assessment and judgement skills.

Ideally applicants will be able to demonstrate a working knowledge of current legislation including the Child, Youth & Families Act (2005); frameworks including the Best Interest Framework, Information Sharing schemes and the MARAM Framework.

Key Selection Criteria

  • Share and promote the values and objectives of the Caroline Chisholm Society.
  • Have casework experience in complex cases.
  • Understanding and willingness to learn about pregnancy and parenting and family services case management.
  • Understanding of the housing and homelessness sector, including experience in homelessness case management.
  • Capacity to work effectively cross sector and help build a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Proven capacity to influence and negotiate, and to build and maintain effective relationships with government departments, key stakeholders and communities.
  • Demonstrated high level of interpersonal, communication and time management skills.
  • Proven capacity to organise, plan and prioritise, ensuring client and program outcomes are met in a timely manner.

A tertiary qualification in Social Work, Psychology, Welfare or equivalent is required.
