The Community Engagement Manager will take lead of a well performing business unit, and have the ability to implement and drive their own strategic initiatives. As Caritas Australia embarks on a significant period of growth, the Community Engagement team will play a significant role in achieving our operational objectives.

More about the role

As a Community Engagement Manager, you will lead engagements with the Australian Catholic community to inspire tangible action for social and ecological justice. Key responsibilities will include (but not limited to):

  • Building upon the existing community engagement strategy.
  • Promoting fundraising solutions through Catholic Schools, Parishes and the broader Australian Catholic community to inspire involvement and action.
  • Building on the existing Diocesan Directors network and further developing the network to connect with each Catholic school and Parish in Australia.
  • Developing an annual plan for engagement, which includes setting measurable goals and monitoring the quality and effectiveness of all engagement activities.

About you

For this role, we are seeking a strong leader and progressive thinker, with a mix of the following qualifications, skills and experience:

  • A track record of working effectively with all levels of the Catholic Church.
  • At least 5 years’ experience in a senior leadership position within the Church or a Church Agency, with a demonstrated ability to lead disperse and cross-functional teams.
  • Proven ability to lead community engagement initiatives that result in positive financial outcomes.
  • Strong relationship management skills to capture the trust of significant internal and external stakeholders (e.g. Bishops, Diocesan Directors, Catholic Church network).
  • Experience managing significant financial budgets and KPI’s.

Applicants must have full Australian working rights, and be available to work from our Sydney Office at least two days per week.
