  • Hours: 28 hours per week
  • Status: Permanent Part-time Position (Subject to Funding)
  • Award / Rate of Pay: SCHCADS Level 8 paid pro-rata on $113,821-$118,309 according to a 38 hour week as per the award. Salary packaging available.
  • Accountabilities: Accountable to Management Committee
  • Probationary Period: This appointment is subject to a three month probationary period and a minimum employment period in accordance with the Fair Work Act

SUMMARY OF ROLE:

The Manager is responsible for working closely with the Management Committee and providing the operations management and broader strategic direction of the service in accordance with Strategic and Operational Plans including:

  • Providing leadership, strategic direction and financial management for the organisation
  • Overseeing the operations of the Centre
  • Ensuring service meets its accountability and reporting requirements

SELECTION CRITERIA:

Essential:

  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline.
  • Demonstrated minimum 2 years’ experience in managing a community based health or welfare organisation including:
    • financial and office administration
    • liaising and reporting to funding bodies
    • human resource management including recruiting, staff supervision and conflict resolution
    • supporting and resourcing a Management Committee
    • submission and report writing
    • project planning, policy development, implementation and evaluation
  • Understanding / knowledge of the social view of women’s health, commitment to feminist principles and women’s right to self-determination
  • Understanding trends in funding and other social policies
  • Understanding / knowledge of policies and issues related to domestic violence, and their impact on the current funding environment and service delivery
  • Ability to lead, coordinate and work within a team environment
  • Ability to lead and manage organisational change
  • High level communication skills including oral, written and negotiating skills
  • Being a woman
  • Minimum of three professional Australian based referees, with at least one having been a recent supervisor or manager
  • Ability to pass a Criminal Record check and Working with Children Check

Desirable:

  • Qualifications in Management
  • Experience working in the women’s health sector
