Beryl Women Inc. is seeking passionate and skilled Child & Youth Counsellors to join our growing Kids & Young People Safe & Strong Van Program. Flexible employment arrangements allow us to consider applicants seeking anything from part-time through to full-time employment, depending on the needs of the program and the strengths and availability of successful applicants.
This innovative mobile therapeutic outreach service supports children, young people and families impacted by domestic and family violence through flexible, trauma-informed support delivered in environments that feel safe, accessible and engaging.

Beryl Women Inc. is a specialist domestic and family violence service supporting women, children and young people across the ACT.
For more than 50 years, Beryl has provided crisis accommodation, transitional housing, case management, advocacy and therapeutic support to women and children experiencing domestic and family violence.

The Kids & Young People Safe & Strong Van Program is an innovative mobile therapeutic outreach service designed to increase access to support for children and young people who may not engage easily with traditional office-based services.
Support may occur:
The program supports children and young people aged 4–18 years and their caregivers.
Our approach is child-centred, youth-informed, relational, feminist and culturally responsive.
Therapeutic approaches vary according to age and developmental stage, ranging from play-based and sensory interventions for younger children through to creative, expressive and conversational approaches with older children and young people.
This is not a traditional clinic-based counselling role.
You will provide therapeutic support to children and young people impacted by trauma, domestic and family violence, homelessness and disruption to safety and attachment.

We are looking for practitioners who can adapt their approach to meet children and young people where they are and who enjoy working creatively and flexibly.
We welcome applications from practitioners with backgrounds in counselling, play therapy, social work, occupational therapy, psychology or related human services disciplines.
