The Opportunity

This is a new fixed term leadership role to oversee the next stage of The Project. Funding from Family Safety Victoria has enabled the program to now operate to meet funded targets following significant work to prepare the site during the project development phase. Reporting to the Senior Manager of Northern Specialist Family Violence Service, the Team Leader will have responsibility to ensure compliance with the expectations of:

  • Family Safety Victoria Case Management requirements
  • Safe and Equal peak body Specialist FV Code of Practice
  • HSS standards
  • The Project Monitoring and Evaluation framework.

Key Responsibilities

The Team Leader will provide leadership and oversight of specialist family violence practitioners responding to victim survivors assessed as "at risk."

The role includes providing supervision, support and consultation to the team within the program. The Team Leader is a member of the NSFVS Management Team and participates in strategic and program development, including regularly reviewing practices and procedures of the NSFVS.

Below are some of the responsibilities for this role:

  • Oversee and coordinate the operations of The Project as a funded family violence program.
  • Work in consultation with the Community Advisory Group, internal and external stake holders and partners, including corporate services, philanthropy and other community services.
  • Participate in monitoring and evaluation of the program.
  • Ensure that The Project meets all quality and compliance standards and creates positive outcomes for service users.
  • Ensure all participants are supported to achieve their goals based on the Empowerment Star tool.

About You

You will hold a minimum Bachelor level qualification in Social Work, recent employment in the family violence sector or equivalency met through the 7 Equivalency Principles in line with Recommendation 209's minimum mandatory qualification requirements. Minimum two years’ experience in a leadership role in the community sector and experience in managing a team in a complex, person centred, trauma informed program.
