Berry Street Yooralla’s Family Violence Program provides specialist, integrated support to victim survivors of family violence and their children across Victoria. We support cisgender heterosexual women and their children, as well as LGBTIQA+ individuals and families, acknowledging the diverse identities, contexts and experiences of the people we serve.

Across all service areas, we promote safety, empowerment, agency and self-determination, tailoring responses to each person’s unique circumstances, identity and lived experience. We recognise the profound and distinct impacts of family violence on children and young people and embed child centred and trauma informed practice across all aspects of service delivery.

  • Full time, Permanent role

  • $115K pa + Super & Salary Packaging ($15,900 p.a.)

The Opportunity

Our Family Violence Program is seeking an experienced Specialist Family Violence Practitioner, Community Partnerships to join our Community Partnerships team in the Northern Metro service area.

This unique role combines direct client support with partnership and capacity-building work across the community sector. You will provide specialist family violence responses to victim survivors and their children while supporting non-specialist services through secondary consultations, advice and training.

Working within a collaborative and highly regarded Community Partnerships Team, you will strengthen integrated responses to family violence, enhance service capability, and help victim survivors access the support they need to achieve greater safety, wellbeing and independence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Delivering brief, intermediate and intensive family violence case management support.
  • Conducting comprehensive risk assessments and safety planning using the MARAM Framework.
  • Supporting victim survivors and their children through outreach and office-based service delivery.
  • Providing specialist advice, consultation and training to non-specialist family violence practitioners.
  • Building and maintaining strong partnerships with community agencies and service providers.
  • Responding to referrals and coordinating appropriate support pathways.
  • Maintaining accurate case records, reports and client documentation.
  • Participating in reflective practice, supervision and ongoing professional development.

About You

You’re a passionate experienced practitioner with a strong understanding of the integrated family violence service system. You bring a values-led approach and thrive in a collaborative team, using clear and effective communication to support quality outcomes.

  • A Bachelor qualification in Social Work, or equivalent experience under the 7 Equivalency Principles.

  • Experience working in the family violence sector, ideally in intake, triage or assessment.
  • Commitment to trauma-informed, intersectional practice.
  • Minimum 2 years experience working in a Specialist Family Violence role is required.
