Play a pivotal role in improving outcomes for people with gastrointestinal cancer.

GI Cancer Trials is an independent, not-for-profit organisation dedicated to improving outcomes for people with gastrointestinal cancer through collaborative, investigator-initiated clinical trials and translational research.

Established in 1991, the organisation is a recognised leader in high-quality clinical research, working with strategic partners across Australia, Aotearoa New Zealand, the United Kingdom, Europe, Asia and North America.

An estimated 37,567 people are diagnosed each year with GI cancers, and 50 Australians are losing their lives to these diseases every day. With a vision of a better future for people with GI cancer, GI Cancer Trials has led more than 90 research studies involving over 10,000 participants, contributing to meaningful changes in clinical practice, expanded treatment options and improved quality of life for people affected by GI cancer.

As Fundraising Lead, you will be accountable for building and scaling GI Cancer Trials’ community fundraising and peer-to-peer income programs into a sustainable and commercially significant revenue stream. This is a hands-on opportunity for a strong fundraiser who can move from strategy to execution, assess performance, reset priorities where needed, and focus effort on the programs that will deliver the greatest growth and return.

In this key role, you will:

• Develop and implement the community and peer-to-peer fundraising strategy aligned to organisational and fundraising priorities.
• Rebuild and grow priority income streams across community fundraising, running/challenge events, workplace giving and the development of a new signature community event.
• Own revenue performance across the portfolio, delivering programs to meet or exceed targets within approved budgets and timeframes.
• Lead digital fundraising optimisation, including supporter journeys, online fundraising pages and the use of digital channels and social media to drive participation and engagement.
• Use fundraising data, campaign analysis and CRM insights to improve acquisition, conversion, retention and net return.
• Build strong relationships with community fundraisers, workplace partners, supporters and internal stakeholders to strengthen program effectiveness and long-term value.

About You

You are a commercially minded and hands-on fundraiser who knows how to build, refine and grow revenue-generating programs. You bring a strong understanding of supporter behaviour, digital fundraising and campaign performance, and you are comfortable using insight and data to identify what is working, what is not, and where to focus for maximum impact.

You are equally strategic and practical, with the ability to develop clear plans, deliver engaging fundraising experiences, and collaborate effectively across teams. Most importantly, you are motivated by purpose and excited by the opportunity to contribute to better outcomes for people affected by GI cancer.

You have:

• 4+ years’ experience in fundraising, ideally within the not-for-profit sector.
• Demonstrated success in growing community fundraising, peer-to-peer fundraising, participation fundraising or related income streams.
• Proven ability to drive revenue growth, improve supporter conversion and build financially viable fundraising programs.
• Experience developing, launching, managing or rebuilding fundraising campaigns or programs with clear accountability for results.
• Digital fundraising experience, including online fundraising journeys, peer-to-peer platforms, eDM support and social media engagement.
• Strong working knowledge of Raiser's Edge or a similar fundraising CRM, including segmentation, reporting and performance analysis.
• Experience using fundraising data and campaign results to identify issues, uncover opportunities and improve performance.
• Excellent stakeholder management, communication and relationship-building skills.
• A proactive, accountable and commercially aware approach, with strong project management skills and attention to detail.
