The Role – Chief Financial and Operations Manager

Reporting directly to the CEO, the Chief Financial and Operations Manager is entrusted with providing robust leadership across FRRR's corporate services function. This pivotal role encompasses oversight of Finance, People and Culture IT, Risk and Compliance, and Company Secretary support to the Board. The incumbent will play a strategic role in ensuring high-quality support and reporting to various stakeholders, driving financial management, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, managing risks, and fostering a positive work culture.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality and timely support and reporting to the Board, Finance & Audit Committee, CEO, Leadership Team, and FRRR Team, encompassing financial forecasting, performance, compliance, and people and culture.
  • Oversee financial forecasting, management, and reporting for the organisation.
  • Ensure compliance across financial, legal, governance, and legislative/regulatory requirements.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate risks to FRRR’s ability to achieve its strategic goals and objectives.
  • Oversee the organisation's people and culture function, nurturing a positive and supportive work culture.
  • Lead workforce planning, develop recruitment and retention programs, conduct performance reviews, and coach others to ensure exemplary employee engagement and satisfaction.

Knowledge & Skills Required:

  • Strong financial literacy and knowledge of finance and accounting, preferably in a NFP and/or philanthropy setting.
  • Proficiency in analytical and management accounting with the ability to present business insights clearly.
  • Experience delivering high-calibre Board reports and financial statements.
  • Deep understanding of statutory, financial, and regulatory reporting requirements.
  • Demonstrated experience in identifying, developing, and implementing strategies supporting organisational transformation and growth.
  • Excellent business software skills and collaborative leadership approach.

Required Experience:

  • Membership of CA, CPA, or IPA (an MBA is desirable).
  • At least 7 years’ experience in a CFO and Corporate Services Manager role.
  • Experience with NFP funding and/or divisional accounting in a complex program budgeting environment.
  • High-level corporate negotiation skills.
  • Aptitude for innovation in identifying, developing, and implementing business support systems and solutions.
