Newtown Neighbourhood Centre (NNC) is a not-for-profit organisation working across the inner western suburbs of Sydney since 1977. NNC works with the whole community, with a particular focus on those experiencing homelessness and social isolation. In all that we do, NNC is committed to justice, inclusion, action and fun. NNC delivers:
NNC also champions the unique creative ‘Newtown vibe’ and has hosted an array of social and cultural events (including the Newtown Festival). NNC currently has an annual fundraiser – Newtopian Sleepout – in addition to a small pool of regular donors and local business supporters. The core programs are supported, and in some instances delivered by a trained group of active volunteers.
Working with the board, the CEO ensures that NNC is meeting its legislative and funding obligations, delivering high quality and culturally safe services, and identifying opportunities to innovate, advocate and partner in order to achieve greater social impact.
