The Inclusive Enterprise and Local Jobs service unit lead innovative approaches to improving economic opportunity and inclusion for local people experiencing barriers to employment through the development of labour market programs, social enterprises, Aboriginal enterprises and other inclusive enterprise initiatives.

About the Role:

  • Lead the coordination and delivery of Banyule's award winning Inclusive Employment Program, which creates employment opportunities for people experiencing barriers to work.
  • Coordinate the recruitment, selection, onboarding, and induction of Inclusive Employment Program participants.
  • Support, mentor and facilitate one-on-one coaching and development opportunities.
  • Facilitate workplace skill building workshops for Inclusive Employment Program participants.
  • Provide quality training, support and guidance to business unit leaders about inclusive employment practices, and advocate for access and equity of employment across Council.
  • Support the evaluation of program effectiveness, coordinate continuous improvement work and prepare reports as required.

Skills, experience and certificates:

  • Qualifications and experience in relevant discipline, e.g. Community Development, Social Sciences, Career Coaching with experience in supporting labour market programs and people facing barriers to employment, or lesser qualifications with substantial relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in coaching individuals to help improve their learning, development and employment outcomes.
  • Demonstrated experience in program delivery and project management.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of inclusive employment practices and ability to advocate for access and equity of employment across Council.
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships to influence and negotiate desired outcomes with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated commitment to access and equity, and specialist knowledge of vulnerable community groups, including barriers to employment, community challenges and differences in cultural backgrounds and value systems.

Mandatory Pre-employment screenings:
