Gender Specialist (voluntary) - Business Coalition for Gender Equality Association - Myanmar

Australian Volunteers Program

Business Coalition for Gender Equality Association (BCGE) aspires to become the centre of excellence for gender equality for the private sector. Australia has built a good reputation in promoting gender equality in the workplace (e.g. Male Champions of Change) and an Australian volunteer can help increase the knowledge and capacity base of BCGE at par with international standards and practice. The availability of professional experts on gender equality in the private sector Myanmar is relatively limited. And as BCGE is an association focusing on workplace gender equality, having in-house gender specialist at association is very important as this specialist can support and advise to BCGE on daily and project activities including developing and delivering training and service package.

  • You'll be providing technical support to BCGE team and technical assistance in BCGE’s advocacy and communication activities to scale-up Workplace Gender Equality (WGE) initiatives and to assist in the capacity development of BCGE team on gender equality, diversity and inclusion.
  • You'll need a Master’s degree or equivalent experience in governance and gender, business studies or organisational development and excellent knowledge of Diversity and Inclusion especially as it applies to private sector.
  • You'll gain invaluable experience living in Yangon, a multicultural city, training and mentoring BCGE staff on gender equality.
