About the role

The Australian Greens Graphic Designer is a critical member of our national team contributing to the effective communication of our messages from across the Party, including our team of federal MPs. Working closely with colleagues in the Australian Greens communications, marketing, engagement and fundraising teams you will provide designs to complement the content produced from fundraising letters and emails, to member and volunteer recruitment ads, to social media campaigns on critical campaign issues.

This is a chance to play a crucial role in the continued growth of our political movement as we work to build a better future.

This is initially a fixed term contract through to Friday 23 June 2028.

About you

You are a design professional with a fresh, modern style, an eye for detail and a passion for working on the most pressing political issues of our time.

As well as being creative, to succeed in this role you’ll be an innovative and collaborative worker who can design and create both reactive and proactive digital and print content across a variety of issues for use on a broad range of digital and print communications channels.

You’ll be able to accept feedback and work to deadlines, and, most importantly, you’ll be up for being part of the action on the campaign trail in a fast paced and dynamic environment.

In this role you will:

  • Conceptualise, design and produce original graphic content that conveys the work of the Greens (in reactive social media, proactive print and digital content, campaigns and advertising)
  • Undertake graphic design, animation, storyboarding and other related tasks, as necessary to deliver agreed content
  • Provide advice and support to inform our visual brand strategy, and ensure the national brand style guide is implemented consistently
  • Manage and keep updated shared creative resource libraries, and ensure these are accessible party-wide

Selection Criteria

  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite — particularly Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign

  • Experience designing for social media platforms including Meta, YouTube, and out of home
  • Intermediate video editing and motion graphics capability is highly desirable
  • An understanding of how design functions within a broader communications and marketing strategy
  • An ability to translate complex messages into clear, compelling visual content
  • Experience working in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments with strong communication skills and ability to manage multiple briefs simultaneously
  • Genuine commitment to progressive values and social change
