Based in the heart of Sydney CBD, Australian Ethical Investment, one of Australia’s fastest growing superannuation and fund managers is looking for an Ethics Analyst who will work with our Head of Ethics and Investment Team in a pivotal research role in a field of rapidly growing importance.
Purpose of the position
The Ethics Analyst will undertake ethical research on companies, industry sectors and general issues and themes as part of the Australian Ethical investment process.
Responsibilities
- Research and advise on ethical issues affecting investments and potential investments, having regard to the Australian Ethical Charter.
- Monitor ethical issues for existing investments and industry sectors.
- Research the purpose of our engagement with companies and sectors to encourage better management of the social and environmental impacts of their business activities.
- Manage external information sources.
- Prepare and report on our ethical research and engagement activities.
- Maintain internal knowledge systems.
Skills, experience and qualifications
- Minimum 2 years’ experience preferred in ESG, corporate and social responsibility, sustainability or ethical investing related fields.
- Strong analytical skills including attention to detail, integrity, curiosity and the ability to provide written analysis and disseminate information accurately and concisely.
- Proficiency in standard office software and demonstrated understanding and ability to use databases to input, extract and analyse data and prepare reports and correspondence
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree is required in a relevant field.
- A strong interest in ethical or ESG research and investments in general.
- Highly developed interpersonal skills with strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to build and maintain internal and external relationships.
- A results focused and collaborative team player.

External Liaison: Ethical advisers, database providers, engagee companies, industry bodies, NGOs.
