The Opportunity

The Director of Engagement and Advisory plays a critical role in advancing Australian Communities Foundation’s mission by leading our engagement and advisory functions. Reporting to the CEO and working as part of the organisations Senior Leadership Team, you’ll oversee business development for the Foundation and advisory services, ensuring growth targets are met and new opportunities are realised.

You’ll lead a small team and work across the organisation to develop channels, build relationships with high-net-worth individuals and families, and design client services that deliver impact. This is a senior leadership position with significant scope to shape strategy, systems, and culture.

About You

You’re a seasoned leader with executive experience and a passion for purpose-driven work. You bring expertise in business development, consulting, and relationship management, ideally within the philanthropy sector. You’re confident engaging with sophisticated clients and stakeholders, and you have the strategic mindset to grow services and deliver results.

Key Responsibilities

Business Development (Engagement) (40%)

  • Drive growth through strategic business development for the Foundation.
  • Oversee engagement processes from enquiry to conversion, ensuring an exceptional client experience.
  • Develop channels and pipelines, including high-net-worth.

Advisory (40%)

  • Design and deliver client services, proposals, and projects to meet annual targets.
  • Develop systems and processes for efficient delivery of consulting work.
  • Lead product and service innovation, including new offerings.

Senior Leadership (20%)

  • Demonstrate values-aligned leadership as part of ACF’s Senior Leadership Team.
  • Support the development and implementation of ACF’s strategy, business plan and financial management.
  • Lead and manage budgets, staff, and portfolio of activities as required.
