Our Lady Lawley Cottage

Lady Lawley Cottage offers children and young people with disability a range of supports tailored to meet their individual needs.

The team works across two purpose-designed premises in Cottesloe and East Fremantle as well as in the community, providing a home-away-from-home experience including Day, Short Stays, High Dependency and Positive Behaviour Support.

What you’d be doing

Join our dedicated, person centred and diverse team working closely with families and health professionals on care plans, support regimes and goal progression.  Your shift will be varied and interesting, shift organisation, clinical handover, working with shift leads, medication management, behaviour support, problem solving, all supported by the team at Lady Lawley Cottage.

About the hours

You can work part time or full time, we’re flexible. Days, Afternoons and Overnight available. With rostering we look at your preferred shift availability and where possible, we like to offer regular consistent shifts.  We offer 30 days annual leave (pro rata) and an additional 5 days leave per year for staff who work a combination of shifts.

What you’ll bring

  • Proven experience working in disability, preferably working with children and young people
  • Proven skills in ventilation and tracheostomy management and behaviour management (or willingness to learn!)
  • Demonstrated experience being responsible for clients and staff and managing emergency situations.
  • Proven ability to deliver care as prescribed by medical direction, nursing care plans and relevant policies and procedures.
  • Extensive knowledge and comprehension of the nursing process including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of client care needs
  • AHPRA registered and must hold a valid First Aid and Manual handling certificate.
