About us

Australian Red Cross has a network of over 180 retail stores where we raise funds to improve the lives of the most vulnerable people in Australia, especially those affected by bushfire, flood and other disasters.

Each year, we rescue 450 tonnes of clothing from landfill, give opportunities to 5000 volunteers, and generate funds to help Red Cross support vulnerable people in Australia and around the world.

About the role

As our Derrimut Distribution Centre continues to grow, we are now looking for 7 enthusiastic Merchandise Sorters to join us!

Work with a team of 30+ staff and volunteers responsible for the day-to-day movement of stock. Responsibilities include grading, categorising, and packing a large volume of donated and new clothing and accessories.

This hands-on role requires a keen eye for quality, strong organisational skills and the ability to work efficiently to meet production targets. You will also have the opportunity to support and guide volunteers while contributing to a sustainable retail operation that helps make a positive impact in the community.

What you will bring

• A strong eye for fashion, quality and current retail trends
• Experience working in a fast-paced warehouse environment
• Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and attention to detail
• Strong organisational and time management skills
• Knowledge of Australian fashion brands and an understanding of retail merchandise standards
• Physical capability to work in a warehouse environment, including standing for extended periods and handling merchandise
