About the role

Working as the Travelling Support Officer for ALPA’s Community Development Program (CDP) you will be supporting 10 CDP Sites throughout Arnhem Land N.T when they are recruiting for permanent roles, have employees on Annual Leave or in times where extra support is required.

This position doesn’t have a home base. You will be frequently travelling to different Communities and essentially living out of your suitcase! This role requires people to be flexible and adaptable to change and can build strong relationships with existing employees and community stakeholders.

Fixed Term and Casual positions available.

Responsibilities

  • Provide relief to Site Manager, Employment Consultants, Activity Coordinators and Post Placement Support Officers
  • Be a champion of the ALPA values and demonstrate a commitment to work health and safety.

Skills and Experience

  • Previous experience working in a Community Development Program
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Highly effective interpersonal skills including proficient written and oral communication skills that can be adapted to meet the needs of people from all education levels, language abilities and ethnic origin
  • Capacity to link daily activities to the ALPA values and mission

Desirable

  • Relevant qualifications in health, human, social or community services
  • Experience working with Aboriginal people in a remote environment
  • Prior experience working in the Northern Territory
