ARAS is seeking to appoint a values-driven Chief Executive (CE) to provide strategic, ethical and operational leadership and
to work closely with the Board in a complex and evolving aged care environment.
We are an independent, not-for-profit advocacy and in-house legal service committed to promoting and protecting the rights of older people.
Reporting to the Board, the CE leads a multidisciplinary workforce and translates strategy into effective operational delivery. The role ensures high‑quality, rights‑based advocacy, strong governance and compliance, and represents the organisation with government, regulators, media and sector partners.
ARAS is the South Australian member of OPAN (Older Persons Advocacy Network) and is mainly funded by the Commonwealth Department of Health.
You are a credible and resilient senior leader with a strong commitment to human rights and social justice. You bring experience working with Boards, leading organisational change, and balancing governance, operations and systemic advocacy.
You will have senior leadership experience in a not‑for‑profit, advocacy, legal or human services setting, sound financial acumen, and strong communication skills. Relevant bachelor’s degree qualifications (or above) together with related experience, a National Police Clearance, Directors ID (or ability to obtain), and capacity for interstate travel are required.
This is a rare opportunity to lead a respected organisation with a strong mission and meaningful impact for older people in South Australia.
