About the opportunity:

As part of the Training and Assessment team, the Administration Officer, Accreditation, plays a pivotal role in managing the accreditation process, improving workflows, supporting committees, and ensuring effective administrative functions within the team.

The role will:

  • Oversee training processes and the training life cycle, to ensure effective delivery of the training programs.
  • Provide leadership guidance, direction and support to staff within the training team
  • Conduct regular data quality checks and develop communications to reduce data errors.
  • Oversee process reviews and implementation.
  • Oversee trainee application processes.
  • Contribute and participate in college projects impacting on training, assessment and accreditation.
  • Oversee the trainee support process and trainee performance review process.
  • Provide additional support to the Training team during periods of staff leave.

This is a permanent, part-time (3 days per week) role reporting to the Accreditation Lead. This role involves 2 days working in the office and 1 day working from home. Notably, 2 the office days are Monday and Tuesdays with 1 work from home day,

About the team:

The T&A Unit operates within the education department and delivers training support services. This unit supports the training program delivery for Anaesthesia, Diving and Hyperbaric medicine and the Rural Generalist Anaesthesia programs and facilitates the hospital site accreditation process for the college.

Keys to your success:

The ideal candidate will be a people-oriental individual with previous experience in a hospital and/or educational environment. You would be someone who has working knowledge of hospital accreditation standards, policies, and processes, with well-developed written communication and attention to detail skills.

Specifically, you will have:

Essential:

  • Sound experience in an administrative role in a professional environment.
  • Well-developed oral communication skills, the ability to interact effectively over the telephone and in person with doctors and senior hospital personnel.
  • Well-developed written communication skills including the ability to record accurate minutes and develop written reports and correspondence.
  • Strong initiative and self-motivation, the ability to work effectively without direct supervision Well-developed planning and organisational skills, including the ability to effectively handle conflicting priorities, establish timeframes and meet deadlines.
  • Confidence with relevant computer systems:
    • MS Word, Outlook, and Excel.
    • Ability to learn in-house database systems.

Desirable:

  • Experienced in the health industry, particularly a hospital environment and/or education environment.
  • A working knowledge of hospital accreditation standards, policies and processes.
  • Experience in events management.
