About the Position

The Partnership Support Service has been established in Anglicare NT to support the capacity development of Aboriginal organisations across the Territory. In the role of Senior Service Development Officer, you will play a key role in leading the establishment of the Aboriginal Out of Home Carer Service (Kinship Care Program), in partnership with CatholicCareNT and JCAC. This will include recruiting, training, mentoring and supervising local staff who are employed to deliver the Aboriginal Out of Home Carer Service, in partnership with CatholicCare NT and supporting the establishment and implementation of the Tennant Creek Child and Family Centre and other child, youth and family related work as agreed to in Anglicare NT partnership arrangements with JCAC.

To be successful, you will possess

  • Tertiary qualifications to degree level in social and/or community services
  • A minimum 3 years’ experience in managing teams and overseeing program delivery
  • Comprehensive working knowledge of Aboriginal cultural, social and community networks and relationships, including within Government and Non-Government Organisations
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously in addition to effectively contributing to a team
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and manage staff learning and development needs to meet operational requirements
  • Highly developed interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills, including the ability to support, mentor and coach staff
  • Strong understanding of child, youth and family services
  • Sound understanding of the Care and Protection of Children Act (NT) or similar
  • Strong project management skills, including an ability to manage multiple competing priorities and collaborate with stakeholders in a timely manner.

Please note: It is a requirement that prior to commencing in this role, you must possess a Working with Children (Ochre Card), a National Criminal History Check (within 3 months) and a current Northern Territory manual driver’s licence.
