The overall responsibility of the Residential Youth Worker is to work with a larger team to promote a consistent and considered approach to the provision of direct care to young people who reside in residential care, ensuring individual needs are met. You will act as a role model to help promote positive attributes, reduce vulnerability, build resilience and encourage future aspirations as well as help develop a range of therapeutic programs to promote and encourage education, living, social and recreational skills.
This position offers the opportunity to join our pool of casual workers who are relied upon to help cover staff leave, holidays and other ad hoc shifts across all 4 house in the region, with houses in Lillydale, Mt Evelyn, Doncaster and Seymour. There is no minimum expectation in terms of number of hours per week and as a casual you can take on as many as 76 hours per fortnight.
