The Position:

The team was established in 2018 as one of two FFT-CW teams in operation at Anglicare Victoria and is an exciting development for clinical practice.  The teams work with families with children and young people aged 0-18, (predominantly in the age range of 8-16) who are a risk of entry to Out of Home Care. The overall aim of the team is to prevent these children and young people from entering care and working with Young People and the families to create more stable relationships. 

As a Lead Practitioner you will work with the FFT Consultant, follow a structured pathway of continuous professional development in FFT-CW and family therapy practice. You will achieve fidelity to the therapeutic model you will work with a small group of families, delivering the model through consultation, coaching and training supported by your FFT Consultant.

To Be Successful in this Position You Will Need:

  1. Tertiary qualifications, preferably in social work, psychology or behaviour sciences or equivalent.
  2. Excellent skills and experience in leading and developing a team environment with a shared purpose of learning, innovation and continuous improvement.
  3. Excellent understanding of the Child and Family service system, including legislative and policy frameworks.
  4. Demonstrated experience in, or knowledge of, family/care giver systems theory, behaviour and cognitive therapies and the application of these in working with young people and families experiencing multiple and complex challenges.
  5. Excellent skills in providing case consultation and advice to complex cases, particularly those around risk, safety and well being assessments.
  6. Ability to deliver assertive outreach services and time limited evidence informed interventions with marginalised, monitory and hard to reach young people and/or their families in their homes and communities.

Please Note: It is mandatory for the successful applicant to hold a current Working with Children Check and be prepared to undergo a National Criminal History Check prior to commencement.
