AV have a diverse workforce, as well as a solid commitment to embedding a culture of inclusion and equity across all our regions and service areas. This is lead and informed by our overarching DEI Strategy, as well as input and advocacy from committees representing diverse cultures and individuals across the organisation, including disability, CALD, Gender and 4 other priority groups. We’re proud of where we are however there’s work still to do.
The re-defined scope and main objective of the DEI Specialist Role is to help support the business to implement and operationalise some of the key actions from our DEI strategy, while influencing the executive sponsors of our DEI groups to focus on deliverables aligned to their specific focus, while maintaining a solid understanding of intersectionality and what the changes or recommendations from each mean to the day to day work at AV.
A passion for DEI is fantastic however this is a hands-on role requiring a practical approach, with a key focus on actions and outcomes. This could involve reviewing and writing policy, making continuous improvements, managing the logistics of committee groups, influencing executive sponsors and supporting realistic and actionable change.
