Who are we looking for?

We are looking for a dedicated individual passionate about ensuring children, young people, families, and customers receive responsive and supportive service beyond regular hours. You'll provide telephone support using a strength-based, culturally safe, and child-centric approach across Anglicare’s Children, Youth & Families and Homelessness services. The successful candidate will demonstrate expertise in crisis response, risk assessment, trauma-informed communication, and de-escalation. If you enjoy engaging with people, solving problems, and are committed to making a difference in the community, this opportunity is ideal for you.

What can you expect to be doing?

  • Respond to risks and concerns for children, young people, families and customers outside of business hours. 
  • Utilise trauma informed communication and de-escalation skills to provide a calm and responsive service to children, young people, families and customers outside of business hours.  
  • Navigate and use IT systems to respond to calls, record outcomes and manage risks.  
  • Respond to referrals and placement requests from the Department for Child Protection outside of business hours and monitor placement moves.  

What do you need to bring?

  • Tertiary qualifications in social work, social sciences, community development, community services or a related field, or relevant experience.
  • Child Safe Environments training / Working With Children Check (WWCC) /National Police History Check
  • Demonstrated skills in critical analysis, ethical decision making and risk assessment.
