Maybe you're an OT. Or a Social Worker. Or a Psychologist. Or perhaps a Mental Health Nurse. You've seen first-hand how the ripple effects of child abuse can affect someone for life. And so, you know just how important it is to ensure that every person gets the help they need early on.

Reporting onto the Intensive Therapeutic Care Specialist, you will be mentored to implement trauma-informed care services for children and young people who have experienced abuse-related harm.

Joining the team as our Therapeutic Specialist in our South-West Sydney program, St Saviours you will be responsible for providing assessments of children and young people, developing therapeutic plans, facilitating care teams, and embedding therapeutic and reflective practice for front-line care staff. Crucial to your success will be your understanding of the therapeutic needs that are required for children and young people who have suffered abuse-related traumas. Your ability to empathise and easily communicate, and work with diverse families with complex needs, will put you in good stead for this next chapter in your career.

You'll be drawing upon your 2 years' experience in either one of the following:

  • Out-of-home care (PSP) service,
  • Family support services
  • Therapeutic/counselling programs
  • Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations
  • Clinical child and family environments

Paired with the above experience if you hold a relevant Postgraduate Qualification, and/or are experienced in working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Clients and/or Children and Young People, we would love to hear from you!
