  • Appointment Type: part-time (0.8FTE or 4 days per week), continuing

The Role

PACE International is seeking a highly motivated and innovative manager with a strong strategic focus to work in collaboration with the Associate Director, PACE International, to lead the development and enhancement of PACE activities for delivery in international settings. In this critical leadership position, you will manage a talented and highly committed team in delivering the goals and objectives of the University’s PACE initiative.

About You

You will be an experienced leader, with extensive experience from previous positions to develop, deliver, evaluate and continuously improve the PACE International program. You will possess strong relationship building skills, with experience in managing international partner relationships and in deepening reciprocal internal and external relationships. You will assure the safe and sustainable delivery of international programs and activities through managing team members, service providers and other partners engaged in the delivery of activities. You will have skills and experience in risk assessment and management as well as project management to develop and enhance international programs.

Professional and Community Engagement (PACE) is a University-wide initiative designed to provide undergraduate students with experiential learning opportunities with a range of local, regional and international partners.  PACE units provide an academic framework through which students can engage with the community, learn through participation, develop their capabilities and build the skills valued by employers. This position is located in the PACE hub, working within the PACE International team.

  • Extensive experience in working at a senior level with diverse internal and external stakeholders in a complex organisational environment, together with demonstrated cross-cultural awareness and sensitivity.
  • Strong capacity to lead, motivate and develop teams, together with demonstrated success in fostering a team culture of service and collaboration
  • Excellent program management skills and experience with a focus on, and demonstrated commitment to, continuous improvement.
  • Sound, strategic understanding of the risks and opportunities of delivering a community-university engagement program in international settings, and how principles of community-led development and reciprocity inform the nature and conduct of student engagement programs in developing countries
  • Extensive experience in leading change and driving the implementation of new initiatives in a complex organisation.
  • In-depth knowledge of the tertiary sector and its key issues and challenges.

Some weekend and evening work as well as domestic or international travel may be required in this role
