Party Director

ACT Greens

The Party Director is the most senior staff member of the ACT Greens, and is responsible for managing all operations of the Party. The Party Director works with the Management Committee to provide strategic planning, decision-making and leadership for the Party and ensure that the Party's decision making structures are well supported and advised. The Party Director will ensure that the Party's resources are deployed in alignment with the decisions and strategic plans of the Party.

We are looking for someone who shares the values of the ACT Greens and wants to help us deliver on our ambition to build a better normal in the ACT. We are looking for someone with:

  • High level communications skills.
  • Demonstrated management experience.
  • Commitment to the ACT Greens values, policies, and decision making processes.
  • Experience working with a member-based political party, NGO, or other incorporated association, including interacting with and providing guidance to management committees
  • Demonstrated ability to manage resources including finances, budgetary processes, multidisciplinary staff and volunteers in order to achieve short term and long term organisational goals.
  • Demonstrated skills in internal and external stakeholder management and engagement, including consultation, advocacy and negotiation.
  • Demonstrated understanding of change management, process improvement and implementation, and risk evaluation and management.
  • Strong IT skills including the ability to effectively use email, Microsoft Office, social media, databases and web-based applications.

It is a small office of only 3 people and so the successful person would need to be flexible and be comfortable working in a collaborative arrangement with staff and members.
