Andrew Braddock, Member for Yerrabi and acting Deputy Leader of the ACT Greens is seeking a Community Engagement and Communications Adviser for his Assembly office.

Duties
- Work with the Assembly team to develop, organise and implement community outreach and engagement.
- Develop, organise and implement communications strategies for local, electorate and constituent engagement and advocacy, through a range of tactics including petitions, social media, videos, graphic design, digital media and traditional media and events.
- Build and foster connections across Yerrabi with constituents and the broader Canberra community.
- Create impactful content, including through writing, photography, graphic design, and video production.
- Localise policy content to be relevant to the electorate and seek local opportunities to maximise their reach with the community.
- Work collaboratively within the Assembly team and with a high level of autonomy and accountability.
- Media relations, including developing responses to enquiries, writing media releases, developing and implementing media strategies and proactive media, and liaising with journalists.

Selection criteria
Essential:
- Experience in community engagement or media.
- Highly developed interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate with a range of internal and external stakeholders.
- Sound oral and written communication skills.
- Excellent organisational skills.
Desirable: (one or more of the following)
- Experience developing digital communications and preparing high quality, engaging copy for digital communications.
- A high level of digital competency, including experience using social platforms, websites and digital communication tools in a professional capacity.
- Experience in or willingness to learn media relations, including developing responses to enquiries, writing media releases, developing and implementing media strategies and proactive media, and liaising with journalists.
- Competence in content creation programs such Canva (or other similar programs), and skills in video and graphic content development for web and social media.
- Connections to the community in Yerrabi or a willingness to develop and foster such connections.
The role will be for the term of the 11th Assembly and is set at Adviser Level 1 or Adviser Level 2, subject to experience with indicative full time equivalent pay ranging from $82,377 to $130,693 plus allowances and superannuation.
The successful candidate will be engaged under a Legislative Assembly Members’ Staff contract, and other terms and conditions of employment are governed by the ACT Legislative Assembly Members’ Staff Enterprise Agreement 2023-2026. This role is not an ACT Public Service position.
