About the Position

We are excited to welcome a Child and Family Practitioner to join our Central QLD Individual Support Services team! In this position, you will have the opportunity to use a trauma-informed model to support children and their ecological networks to achieve better outcomes. You will conduct psychosocial assessments, implement tailored evidence-informed interventions, and support the reunification of families, while providing them with the skills and education they need to improve their wellbeing and community connectedness.

  • Level 5 SCHCADS Award.
  • Salary range: $100,784 - $105,350 + Superannuation.
  • Full-time, permanent position.
  • Willingness to travel to Gladstone and other client sites as required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct psychosocial assessments, implement tailored evidence-informed interventions for each individual child’s needs, and support reunification plans based on evidence-informed models.
  • Provide both psycho-education and practical assistance to children, families, and carers.
  • Coordinate services and support networks, using an ecological framework.
  • Facilitate social learning, community connectedness, good health, and wellbeing.

About You

  • Hold a relevant tertiary qualification (allied health, social work, human services) with professional registration (if required) and, a membership in a professional association (desirable).
  • Demonstrate at least three (3) years’ experience working with children, young people and their families who have been impacted by trauma or have experienced abuse and neglect, or more than five (5) years’ experience working in similar roles.
  • Eligibility to work in Australia (proof of eligibility required), including holding or obtaining required checks (Working with Children Check or professional exemption).
  • Current driver’s licence.
