Access Community Services Limited (ACSL) is Australia's leader and specialist in settlement, employment, training and youth and social enterprises for migrants, refugees and mainstream clients, in Queensland, particularly in the South East. As a community based, not for profit organisation limited by guarantee, we boast over a 30 year history of serving our local community which was originally established in Logan in 1984. We are committed to fostering community development, youth, settlement and employment initiatives and to providing personal support programs to address the needs of disadvantaged youth and community groups including migrants, refugees, humanitarian entrants and visa holders.
The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) Community Connector will work within the Community Engagement and Development Team. The Community Connector role is to connect and link Culturally and Linguistically Diverse people with disabilities or their carers to the NDIS. Many individuals and communities have additional barriers to accessing the NDIS, including language and cultural differences, and/or disassociation from broader community as a result of discrimination or trauma. This role has been developed to address these challenges faced by CALD people who have been unable to access the Scheme or are facing difficulties in using the Scheme to its full potential.
Multiple positions available (Based in Logan (Part-time 0.7FTE), Toowoomba (Full time), Cairns (Full time), Townsville (Full time), Rockhampton (Part-time 0.5 FTE) and Mackay (Part-time 0.5 FTE).
