Change your lifestyle, grow your career and make a real impact.

The opportunity:

YMCA of the Northern Territory is currently looking for an amazing individual to fill the role of Area Manager in Katherine.

In the Territory, we enjoy an enviable laidback lifestyle with amazing weather, short commutes, spectacular displays of outback starry skies, and colourful tropical sunsets with friendly and inclusive people.

We have an amazing community spirit, welcoming newcomers with boundless enthusiasm. Many people in the Territory have moved here from somewhere else, so it’s an easy place to meet people and make new friends.

If you are someone with experience in the health and wellness sector, who is ready to lead and is looking for the next step in your career, with the added benefit of an amazing lifestyle, this role would be perfect for you.

The role of Area Manager is one of leadership in the Katherine community. Managing a charismatic team who are passionate about the impact they can have, the role includes centre management of the Henry Scott Recreation Centre as well as oversight of the Katherine Aquatic Centre.

To thrive in the role, you have a comfortable leadership style, are great at managing multiple priorities and have your finger on the pulse.

You’re someone who finds it easy to build and maintain relationships with all the people you meet. You are skilled at planning, reporting, marketing and communicating, and can easily adapt your, always professional, style to the relevant audience.

You have a keen eye for identifying any potential risks, and an attention to detail to ensure all processes and procedures are followed to mitigate them.

If you have a drive for continuous improvement, innovation and growth. If you are nimble, dynamic, love people, and love life.  If you want to work where everyday is a great day for making an impact, then this is the role for you!

Everyone at the YMCA of the Northern Territory is dedicated to making a positive community impact in all the work we do.

From childcare, to before and after school care, from youth services to recreation and aquatics, we believe in the power of inspired young people.

Whether they are in our care, participate in in our programs, or work for us, we work to empower young people to be all they can be.

With facilities in Darwin, Palmerston, and Alice Springs as well as Katherine, you can explore the top end with the YMCA, or take the skills you will learn back to your home town – it’s up to you!

If everything you have read has planted and idea in your head and a smile on your face, we need to hear from you!
