Women’s Legal Service WA is a not for profit community legal centre funded to provide free legal services for women in Western Australia. We work to redress inequalities in the legal system that adversely and disproportionately affect vulnerable women by providing quality information and expert assistance in family law, child protection and compensation for criminal injuries matters. We focus on victims and survivors of family and domestic violence.
WLSWA provides gender specific and trauma informed legal information, advice and supports to women around Western Australia. Our high performing team does this in collaboration with our sector partners.
The Client Services Officer provides administrative support to all staff at the WLSWA including reception duties. This position is the first point of contact for clients and other service providers contacting the WLSWA. Women contacting WLSWA are often distressed and many of our clients are victims of family and domestic violence or mental health consumers. As such, the successful applicant will have high level communications skills and the ability to assist clients in a non-judgmental and compassionate manner.
The Client Services Officer is required to provide comprehensive and effective legal referral information to women. This position also assists the Finance and Operations Manager with bookkeeping duties as required. It is essential the Client Services Officer works well within a small team and under minimal supervision.
Taking initiative, problem solving and a ‘can do, will do’ attitude are essential.
