Wintringham is a not-for-profit organisation providing an extensive range of aged care, housing and related support services to People over the age of 50 who have been homeless or at risk of homelessness. We employ over 950 staff and operate from multiple offices across Melbourne, regional Victoria, and Tasmania.
This is a new part time fixed term role to provide the In Prison Aged Care Consultancy Service (IPACCS), conducting evidence based occupational therapy assessment and intervention.
The role will work with a diverse and complex caseload assessing skills, capabilities, needs and strengths of older people who are currently incarcerated. The position will focus on undertaking comprehensive physical and behavioural assessments and developing strategies to support the client and corrections staff.
The role will provide tailored support to clients, ensuring that their individual goals are achievable throughout their time in custody and on release to transition back into community. This may be through short-term assessment, or a longer-term case management approach. This part time role (0.6 FTE) will run for 12 months from 17th of July 2023 to 30th of June 2024 and the roster will comprise of 22.5 hours weekly.
In partnership with the Older Persons Prison Program (OPPP) Coordinator this role will provide consultancy to Corrections staff across multiple locations. This may include group training or individualised advice in how to best support the ageing cohort of incarcerated people across Victoria.
The position will also ensure that service delivery practices are consistent with Wintringham's philosophy, values and mission.
