A Day in the Life of our Student Wellbeing Officer

Our Wellbeing Officers support a positive wellbeing culture at Cire Community School. This may involve supporting students requiring assistance with their wellbeing needs on a day to day basis to encourage engagement, providing interventions and referrals on as needs basis, working with external professionals and the student support group, liaising with parents or carers and providing programs to groups of students.

Working as a team, you will collaborate with students and teachers to establish strategies that support self-regulation, assisting students to participate actively in their learning. Your days will be varied, but always active and working with purpose to support the overall wellbeing of Cire students.

Who Are You?

With a Degree or Diploma in Social Work, Youth Work, Counselling or Education, you will have experience working effectively with young people and the ability to build rapport and trust. You will have a strong understanding of the complexity of adolescent development, impacts of trauma on development and engagement in education and a demonstrated ability to quickly, sensitively and effectively assist with the de-escalation of young people in moments of personal distress.
