Sussex Neighbourhood House is a place to come together to learn, connect and belong.
We are seeking 1 young person (15-25) and 2 ordinary Committee of Governance members to represent the perspectives of people in our community.
This is a great opportunity to have your voice heard, influence local community programs, and gain leadership experience while contributing to a vibrant community organisation.
As a Youth Committee Member
You don’t need previous board or governance experience — we will support you with induction and guidance. You will:
- Bring the perspective of young people to discussions and decisions
- Contribute ideas about programs, activities and community initiatives
- Participate in conversations about the future direction of Sussex Neighbourhood House
As an Ordinary Committee Member
You will have following skills and experience:
- Industry knowledge or user experience of community organisations
- Marketing and public relations
- Community and stakeholder engagement
What’s involved for Youth and Ordinary Members?
- A committee meeting once every two months (evenings)
- Opportunity to participate in project working groups if interested
- Attendance at the Annual General Meeting once a year
- Optional involvement in community events and activities
