Plus 61J is a balanced, contemporary, media company established in April 2015 which focuses on the Australian and Jewish world, Israel and the Middle East. It is pro-Israel, pro- peace, pro-human rights and supports a two-state solution.

It aims to broaden the conversation among both the Jewish and general communities by providing informative, analytical material that will enable a better understanding of critical issues facing the Jewish world.

Plus 61J has entered a new phase in its evolution having grown its influence as a leading Jewish publication over the last five years. The organisation is a values-based organisation focused on providing a reasoned, informative, respectful voice in the community, committed to ethical journalism and a socially just world. The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) is a newly created position for a values-driven leader to steer the organisation through the next exciting phase in its growth. The CEO will work closely with the Board of Directors and the team in leading the implementation of Plus61J’s mission and strategy.

Responsibilities

The CEO is responsible for the overall business strategy and organisational success. The role is accountable for all business operations and management of the organisation, its people and resources.

Applicants will ideally have:

• Tertiary qualifications in business or other relevant areas
• Experience in a senior leadership position; preferably in a media environment or related industry
• Demonstrated leadership capability, be able to inspire confidence and draw the best out of staff and relevant stakeholders
• Passion, personal drive, and a commitment to values-based work and social justice causes
• Strategic thinking, planning skills and the ability to manage priorities and deadlines
• Commitment to delivering professional and high-quality outcomes and products
• Nimble and flexible to readily shift or adapt to new information or changing circumstances
• Strong presentation, communication, and advocacy skills
• The ability to develop strong relationships and influence senior stakeholders
• Some understanding of the Jewish community in Australia plus some knowledge and awareness of Israel, Middle East politics and international affairs
