Chief Executive Officer - Flexible Location

National Disability Research Partnership

The NDRP will fund research led by and with people with disability. It aims to facilitate a collaborative and inclusive disability research program that builds evidence for successful policy and practice. It is guided by the NDRP principles.

The CEO position is a strategic leadership position, requiring vision, energy, and an innovative and entrepreneurial approach. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with highly developed skills in stakeholder engagement, experience in establishing processes and systems, a strong understanding of the disability community and an ability to represent the new entity to the general public.

The NDRP has a strong preference that the successful candidate be a person with disability.

The NDRP is a key initiative under Australia’s Disability Strategy 2021-2031. It will be instrumental in building the evidence base for the Strategy and beyond to improve outcomes for people with disability.

This appointment is for 2 years to guide the establishment of the NDRP. It is initially a work from home position that can be done from anywhere in Australia, though the CEO may choose to establish an office.

Essential requirements:

  • Demonstrated experience in establishing organisations, or at least in establishing new systems and processes to set organisations up for success, including membership-based organisations.

  • Demonstrated experience of working to a Board of Directors.
