- Award: Neighbourhood House & Adult Education Centre Collective Agreement 2016, Schedule 3D: Tutors and Teachers
- Classification: Commences at Tutor 2, year appropriate with a 1.25% loading for administration, assessment and consultation work as well as an above award payment of 5%
- Tenure: Fixed Term Contract Feb 1 – December 6 2023 after 3 month probation period
- Class hours: Wednesdays 1.00pm – 3.00 pm (in school terms)
- Key Position Objective: To plan, teach and assess adult education classes in literacy and numeracy to adults of all abilities.
Responsibilities
- Conduct initial assessment followed by regular assessment throughout the program
- Develop curriculum and resources appropriate to student levels and needs
- Teach using strategies appropriate to student levels and needs
- Provide direct support to and as appropriate refer students to Program Coordinator or outside agency for appropriate support and/or information
- Maintain accurate, accessible and up-to-date documentation according to audit requirements relating to curriculum and student attendance and progress
- Conduct an assessment and report on the course, advising the Program Coordinator of any issues and recommending improvements
