Are you detail-oriented, organised, and passionate about delivering accurate payroll services?

Glen Education is seeking a Payroll Officer to join our People Experience team. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the accurate and compliant delivery of payroll for over 200 education and support staff.

As a Payroll Officer, you will manage end-to-end payroll processing, maintain data integrity, and administer employee entitlements. Working closely with HR, Finance, and educational managers, you’ll ensure payroll operations align with relevant awards, legislation, and organisational policies.

This role is 3 days per week (Tuesday - Thursday)

Key Responsibilities

  • Process fortnightly payroll for 200+ employees using Employment Hero.
  • Review timesheets and liaise with HR on classifications, offboarding, and entitlements.
  • Administer allowances, deductions, salary packaging, and final pays.
  • Manage leave entitlements, including LSL and parental leave claims.
  • Prepare and lodge quarterly PLSA calculations and WorkCover reports.
  • Complete monthly reconciliations for superannuation and STP obligations.
  • Maintain accurate payroll data and ensure compliance with confidentiality and award requirements.
  • Support HR with general tasks and projects as required.

Essential Criteria

  • Minimum 12 months’ experience managing end-to-end in-house payroll.
  • Ability to multi-task, manage time and problem-solve, in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong knowledge of Australian payroll legislation, awards, and superannuation.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and payroll systems.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Current Police Check and Working with Children Check.

Desirable

  • Experience with Employment Hero or similar platforms.
  • Knowledge or experience with the Victorian Early Childhood Teachers and Educators Agreement (VECTEA).
  • Experience in HR or willingness to develop HR skills.
  • Experience preparing reports for management.
  • Background in not-for-profit organisations.
