The Risk and Compliance Consultant supports the Head of Risk & Compliance and the Senior Risk and Compliance Consultant to effectively manage the enterprise and operational risk management and corporate compliance and assurance functions at AFCA. The team works with functional areas and risk owners within AFCA to regularly review and monitor risk exposures as well as reporting to Executive and Board Committees.
This is initially a 12-month role with the opportunity to become a permanent role.
Typically, in this role you will be:
- Managing conflict of interest across AFCA by engaging AFCA staff and their managers, analysing conflicts and making recommendations to manage them. This will include the maintaining of the Conflict of Interest register.
- Manage the delivery of projects that will involve end to-end process of running a tender, evaluating and finalisation.
- Operationalise the risk-based internal audit program to provide assurance to various team across AFCA and ensure the key controls are effective and working.
- Update and maintain the internal audit tracker maintained on CAMMS risk management system and regular follow-up with the stakeholders and relevant EGMs.
- Support the Head of Risk and Compliance in reporting on risk and compliance matters to the Board and Executive Management in consultation with the EGM and General Counsel.
- Effectively manage and monitor AFCA’s compliance framework and corporate compliance responsibilities with guidance from the Head of Risk and Compliance.
- Effectively manage and update the Registers such as Risk, Audit, Policy and Compliance and KRI.
- Manage the CAMMS system to make sure it is working as intended such as access rights, notifications, training, developing new reports and conducting system integrity checks
About you
To be successful in this role, you’ll come equipped with:
- Organisation skills, with an ability to complete the assigned tasks within given timelines.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills with ability to deal across all levels including EGMs.
- Great attention to detail.
- Ability to analyse data and provide insights and basic knowledge of MS office.
- Project management, audit or risk management experience.
- Experience with risk management systems desirable.
- Relevant tertiary qualification or extensive experience in risk management, compliance or assurance with several years’ experience is highly desirable
