Job Summary

As a Director, you will provide strategic direction and guidance in all aspects of our organisation, including strategic planning, financial management, operations management, resident wellbeing and marketing. You will work closely with our existing Board of Directors and staff to ensure that our mission is carried out effectively. Board directors are asked to volunteer at least 4 hours per month.

Organisation Overview

Our Christian retirement village provides affordable independent living for over 55’s. Additionally, we allocate a minimum of 20% of our accommodation to the provision of low-cost rental housing to the financially vulnerable.

We believe in empowering all of our residents to thrive in a safe and supportive community.

Responsibilities

• Read monthly reports
• Participate in our monthly board meetings (the last Thursday of each month)
• Work with the Board of Directors to ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements
• Support and maintain positive relationships with community partners and stakeholders
• Ensure that our residents receive the highest level of care and support
• Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure efficient and effective management of the organisation.
• Support staff to ensure that our goals are met and our mission is carried out effectively

Requirements

• Leadership and management experience
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• A commitment to the organisation's mission and values
• Experience in non-profit management would be well regarded
• A practicing Christian who is able to integrate their faith into their work
