Champion Disability Services was developed by a sibling duo with the goal of making a difference in the lives of participants, their families and support workers. We pride ourselves on our service and communication with both participants and support workers, and through our values of honesty, kindness, and integrity, we will work with you towards achieving your professional goals.

About the role

At Champion, Disability Support Workers are responsible for supporting participants community inclusion, independence, decision-making, and personal choices whilst facilitating a safe and interpersonal environment.
You will be providing care and support to participants in line with their personalised care plans, which may include but not limited to:

  • Attending to personal care tasks such as showering, dressing and toileting
  • Accessing the community,
  • Support in social experiences,
  • Assisting with transportation,
  • Meal preparation and Meal assistance,
  • Communication development,
  • Life skills development.

Currently we have multiple participants in North West Metro that are looking for reliable support workers to start immediately. Regular shifts are available every week depending on your availability (optional weekend shifts are also available).

About You

Desired skills and personal attributes:

  • Clear verbal and effective written communication skills
  • Ability to build rapport and trust with clients,
  • Strong time management and ability to prioritise,
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office for record keeping,
  • Effective problem solving and conflict management skills,
  • Ability to work as part of a team and sustain professional working relationships, and
  • Maintain client privacy,
  • Have a ‘smart’ phone, and
  • Hold a full Driver’s License, and if you intend to use your car to transport participants, reliable and comprehensively insured vehicle.

To be considered for this role, the following qualifications are required by law:

  • Working with Children’s Check
  • Criminal Record Check,
  • First Aid and CPR Certificate,
  • NDIS Workers Check
