About you

Your experience as a Family Preservation Caseworker and genuine desire to make a difference in people’s lives is what drives you to apply for this position.

You have the know-how and the connections to help very vulnerable families access the support they need and to keep children safe.

You have a warm personality and easily gain the trust and confidence of vulnerable people. You maintain calm and the ability to problem solve in extremely difficult and high stress situations.

About the role

Our Family Preservation Caseworker works closely with vulnerable families to protect at-risk children and break the cycle of disadvantage.

You will use a therapeutic casework approach to help strengthen the functioning of families whose children are at risk of significant harm and being placed in out-of-home care.

You will work alongside families to ensure children are safe and cared for in their home, while supporting their parents to access the resources they need for positive behaviour change.

You build strong relationships with families, visiting them in their home in times of crisis and as part of routine support.

Fixed term, full-time opportunity until 30 June 2024 and based in Western Sydney. The positions may be extended pending funding arrangements.
