About the role

As Residential Support Worker you will be working with children and young people who have found themselves requiring residential care and support in the out-of-home care system. You will be supporting Community Service Organisations working towards positive outcomes for all.

• You will be required to contribute to the young person's independent living skills, comply with all administrative requirements and household duties.
• You must demonstrate positive role modelling and monitoring to enable children and young people to meet their goals and achieve their full potential.
• Provide caring and nurturing support to children and young people who have experienced trauma.
• Provide appropriate role modelling to children and young people to learn through required daily activities such as self-care, nutrition and independent living skills.
• Implement developmental and behavioural management and safety plans as set by the young persons care team.
• Have the ability to clearly document relevant reports relating to the young person in the house.

Skills and Experience

• Certificate IV in Child, Youth & Family Intervention or equivalent. If you have partially completed your qualification, we will support you to undertake/complete the qualification with us whilst you are on the job.
• Ability to self-regulate in challenging situations
• Understanding the importance of safety and compliance
• You are required to have or are willing to obtain:
  • Police Check - Valid within last 12 months
  • Valid Working with Children Check (Employee)
  • Valid and current NDIS Screening clearance
  • Current First Aid and CPR
  • Valid and Current Victorian Drivers Licence
  • Right to work or equivalent
