The Role
We are looking for a full-time fixed-term (12 month Maternity Leave cover up until June 2024) Manager, Sustainable Communities.
The Manager, Sustainable Communities is responsible for developing and implementing strategies and programs that build community sustainability. The right person for the role is able to develop and strengthen existing partnerships, and identify potential new relationships that will support the delivery of community building programs to our tenants and communities
The Manager, Sustainable Communities is responsible for 3 full-time Tenant Participation Officers, and as a team you will promote, develop and sustain a wide range of initiatives that support our commitment to tenant engagement and participation, and introduce additional community resources, services and activities to enhance our core housing management functions.
Key Accountabilities include:
- Support Bridge Housing's ongoing success by driving the development and implementation of community and tenant engagement plans aligned with Bridge Housing's mission and strategic objectives.
- Grow the range of community building activities offered to tenants and communities through innovative programs and initiatives consistent with tenant and community priorities and our strategic and operational goals.
- Identify and apply for grants and alternate funding from philanthropic sources and local, state and federal government, to grow the range of programs we can provide.
- Drive the continual improvement of community and tenant programs and initiatives, by collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.
- Development of strategic policy advice, data analysis, Board and Executive reporting and public communications on community engagement and tenant participation.
- Support Bridge Housing meet its financial targets by ensuring the community building plans and programs are prepared with appropriate budget forecasting and adherence to these budgets is monitored and reported on.
- Contribute to Bridge Housing's growth plans by contributing to the preparation of tenders and EOI's.
- Use effective communication methods and practices to drive an increase in tenant and community involvement and promote our programs to internal and external stakeholders.
- Support the improvement of quality service delivery by measuring and analysing tenant feedback, reporting on the results and outcomes to Bridge Housing in a structured framework, and, making recommendations for service improvement.
- Ensure Bridge Housing operates as a leader in the community housing sector by developing and implementing tenant feedback programs and benchmarking against best practice in the sector.
- Assist with Bridge Housing's drive to improve culture and performance through effective management and leadership practices that attract and retain high quality staff, manage performance, and, develop employee capability and the skills required to achieve the community building programs and plans.
- Contribute to the increased profile and reputation of the housing and community services team by identifying and participating in networks and partnerships, attending industry forums and being an active member of the community housing sector.
What we are looking for in the right candidate
- Demonstrated experience of working in the community services sector establishing and managing successful programs to deliver community building outcomes.
- Experience of working with the housing sector is desirable, as is knowledge of welfare and other relevant government policies.
- Experience of staff supervision
- A relevant tertiary level qualification
- Valid driver's license
