About the organisation

"I haven't accepted my son's diagnosis, I never will.  Call it denial but I won't accept it"

When Elie Eid's son Emilio was diagnosed with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy he made it his life mission to find a cure.  With the support of the community and some of the most influential people across Australia, Elie founded Save Our Sons, a children's charity committed to raising desperately needed funding and awareness to find a cure for Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy.

DMD is a severe muscle-wasting condition that affects 1 in 3500 children, where 99% of children affected are boys. Once diagnosed, children are normally confined to a wheelchair between the ages of 7 and 12, and most do not live past their early twenties.

As of today, Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy has no cure and no one survives...

All funds raised by Save Our Sons goes directly towards funding scientific clinical trials to find a cure, the placement of one nurse in each state across Australia and the provision of equipment for those affected to ensure all children with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy receive the best level of care that they need and deserve.

Save Our Sons is a charity that prides itself in its trailblazing characteristics, and as such, we encourage people to think outside the square.
